No gatekeeping, just respect

Your codes are your save file

Scammers know that many gamers make friends online: profiles that are too perfect, requests for gift cards or in-game items, codes "to verify", crypto. A few reflexes are enough to spot them.

  1. Never send gift cardsGift cards, credits, in-game items: they're almost impossible to get back once sent.
  2. Never share a codeNobody needs a code you received by text or your login details "to verify" anything.
  3. Stay in the appBe wary of anyone who wants to move the conversation elsewhere very quickly: on Geek Dating, you can report and block at any time.
  4. Prefer verified profilesThe blue badge shows the person took a selfie that was compared with their photos. If in doubt, report the profile.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a "real" geek to sign up?

No. Geek Dating brings together singles who love video games, anime, manga, series or pop culture, whatever their level. Nobody has a culture test to pass: curiosity is enough.

Can I search by game or by world?

There's no filter by game: everyone's interests are shown on their profile, and you set the age range and search distance. Mention a game, a franchise or a manga that matters to you in your bio: it's often the best opener for a first message.

Can I show my favourite games and worlds?

Yes. Choose your interests from 40 (PC, PlayStation, Nintendo, RPGs, MMORPGs, Zelda, Pokémon, anime, cosplay…) and add the languages you speak: they appear on your profile, and you can see other members' before you write.

What do you do about fake profiles?

Photos are checked automatically (those found elsewhere on the internet are rejected), profiles can be verified with a selfie and the moderation team reviews every report. Never send money, gift cards, in-game items or a code you received by text to someone you met online.

Is Geek Dating free?

Yes, for the essentials: sign-up, profile, likes, posts in the feed and unlimited chat with each of your matches. Diamonds and the Premium subscription are optional.

Which languages is the website available in?

In French, English, German, Japanese, Korean and Russian, like the app. Change language at any time from the language menu.
